WHAT IS SABAR FOUNDATION AND WHY DO WE NEED IT?
The “SABAR FOUNDATION is a Centre in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) in America” emerged based on an urgent need to address the growing problem of violent extremism and building local peace across the world. SABAR provides leadership, best practices, research, support and advocacy as well as capacity building for Peace and CVE throughout the sphere.
Presently, the efforts and initiatives are centered around eradicating extremism and the harmful practices of violent extremist groups. These efforts also complement SABAR’s expertise in countering the sources and outcomes of extreme violence based on radical ideologies.
SABAR aims to become as a platform to expand multilateral Peace and CVE efforts through better coordination between the government, civil society, donor community and the private sector in the world. The initial motive for creating SABAR was rooted in engagement with the scholars and research for understanding of drivers for radicalization in a localized context.
VISION
The eradication of violent extremism throughout Afghanistan, with a positive spill-over effect for the wider region of Central and South Asia and Africa which will lead to an enlightened, moderate and peaceful society based on a culture of pluralism and tolerance.
MISSION:
To provide policy advice and analysis, expert opinions, and training on how to revive the essence of moderation and coexistence as a Think Tank and Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism while overseeing projects and efforts related to Peace and CVE, functioning as a Peace and CVE Monitoring Institution.
OBJECTIVES:

To provide grassroots-level research and CVE perspectives from Central and South Asia and Africa

To be a source to link up with local, national and international CVE partners and experts towards preventing and countering efforts in Central and South Asia and Africa

To be a vehicle for implementing and overseeing CVE initiatives throughout the country and the broader region

To contribute to an informed people and build the psychological resilience of communities and individuals and to facilitate community access and outreach

To engage the community and promote local capacity building training

To involve and utilize social media in Strategic Communication and the promotion of an alternative narrative on CVE in Central and South Asia and Africa.
SABAR- through its integrated sustainability mechanism - supports and creates a network between the existing knowledge bases and experts tapping in the pool of Peace and CVE related organizations, practitioners and researchers and also ensures that both academic findings and practical experience are widely shared locally and nationally throughout Central and South Asia and Africa and the world.
